The Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist

It has been a while since I was tagged in a Meme so when The Boy and Me tagged me in her "Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist" I just had to join in.  You will have to forgive me though as I do not drive.

I love Summer tunes.  It's such a short season here in the UK that we really do have to make the most of it and Summer tracks help left my spirits whatever the weather.

First up, I have to share Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen.  Being from the Class of 1999, this was THE track of the Summer after I finished Secondary School.

Of course, no Summer playlist would be complete without this beauty, even if it is well before my time it is a true Summer classic.

Next up has to be a chilled Summer song.  This was a top favourite of mine and the husband's and when we did have a car, it was played frequently on our trips to Devon.

I am sure I could create a far longer playlist if only we had our CDs easily available here and not all packed away!

For this I want to tag Clara from Claraunravelled, Chelsea from MS Mummy of Two, Emily aka Tea Lady Mumbles and Kara from Chelsea Mamma.

Thanks to The Boy and Me I also discovered a competition from MoneySupermarket which asks bloggers to share their Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist. It's a fun idea with a serious message behind it, "THINK! research suggests that almost 20% of accidents on major roads are sleep or tiredness related. Long journeys on motorways can lead to a lack of concentration and, as well as other preventative measures, listening to songs you love can be a great way to stay alert and focused on the road."  Certainly whenever we have had a car we have always ensured we have a vast selection of music to choose from, that is on non-match days anyway!
